Let me start with why i tried this. Millions of People around the world are dieting right now, and all for different reasons. I am already happy with my body and lead a healthy and active life, but after noticing a tummy come through over winter i decided to give the teatox a try to give me that extra edge and make my tummy a little flatter before i head off on holiday (at which i plan on spending a lot of time in my bikini). Plus, i think there are some amazing benefits that come from teas and am keen to try all that i can.
I showed my girlfriends the tea and to my surprise they completely rejected it saying that they have heard it is nothing but a laxative and causes severe cramping. None the less, i am open for anything on my quest, and curiosity got the better of me.
The 14 days detox set comes with 2 packs, the loose leaf and the colon cleanse tea bags. The instructions state you drink the colon cleanse every second night, leaving it to soak in the water for 3-5 minutes. I was a little cautious (about the cramping) so i decided to work up to it, leaving the bag in for only 1 minute the first time, then 2, then 3 then 4 and then 5. I didn’t feel any cramping the first times, until i left it in for 4 minutes, but it wasn’t bad at all. My bathroom visits stayed regular and i didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. It was only at the 5 minute mark that i suffered some cramping during the night and a laxative effect the next day. Fairly painful and uncomfortable.
The loose leaf is great! Instructions are to drink it first thing in the morning every morning promising to keep your energy levels high and suppress your appetite. And that it does, i really enjoyed it & even liked the taste.
Other instructions whilst doing the teatox are a diet and exercise routine on their website.
I can’t help but think of 2 major things that make this program so successful for some people. Especially the type of people that buy it. If you are after a quick fix, chances are you may not live a healthy lifestyle, in which case this tea would work well in 2 ways:
1. Any lifestyle adjustment towards as positive diet and exercise routine would result in weight loss. Especially if you don’t usually do that kind of thing.
2. To put it bluntly, if you eat a lot of shit, your body will be happy to release that shit when given a laxative. I never felt that laxative effect and i believe it is because i eat well. For my cheat meal i ate Chinese and that night was the first time i felt cramping.
All in all, i don’t believe Skinny Me Tea is a bad product, and i enjoyed the process, just unnecessary. If you follow a light diet and exercise routine, drink 2 cups of green tea during the day, and up your fiber intake (see examples here) i believe you can have the same (longer lasting) effect.
But hey, that’s just my opinion. If you we’re wanting to try i think you should still give it a go, don’t let anyone stop you from doing everything in your power to better yourself. Everything you do is teaching you about your body and that is a great thing. Also they have some great other teas on offer if you think they might be more suited to you.
Here is my before and after. As you can see there is not much of a change. I exercise 5 times a week minimum and clean eat; all home made meals. Because i am already at my smallest weight it is hard for me to budge these last few kilos, and the tea didn’t seem to help, for me anyway, even with my rigorous routine.
I hope for more results for you.
